What was once an A-frame garage has been transformed into a warm and character-filled guest retreat, tucked amongst the acreage of Middle Pocket.

Downstairs, the existing space was reworked to create three bedrooms and a bathroom, with a spiral staircase leading up to the open-plan loft above. The existing pitched roof gave the loft beautiful proportions, while the addition of a large triangular feature window completely changed its connection to the surroundings—framing views across the palm trees, farmland and greenery beyond.

Inside, the approach was relaxed and rustic, with warm timber floors and benchtops, simple white VJ walls and farmhouse-inspired pieces giving the retreat an easy, lived-in feel.

Now a guest retreat and Airbnb, the finished space makes the most of the original A-frame structure and its beautiful rural setting.
